Our Story

I am starting our story in 1995.  That is when we got married.  Lisa may start it earlier when she helped hire me at the health clinic — that is old history. We started together in Santa Rosa, CA in a little shack of a house. Molly was with us at the time. We moved to a better house after a couple years across the way, still in Santa Rosa.

Next came Arizona. Had to practically pry Lisa out of California but finally did it. My friend Darryl needed some help in a hospital chain and so off to Arizona we went. First stop was Flagstaff. We had a beautiful ski lodge home at the base of the San Francisco Peaks. Needed the ski lodge — 22 feet of snow that winter. The altitude proved too much for Lisa, so we moved lower down to Prescott. Prescott Valley was a great place. My commute took me over the Mingus Mountains each day on a twisty 120 turn road. Never got tired of it. Lisa took on working at Zion bank and really liked commercial lending. After Darryl died, needed a change of venue — Oregon.

Portland, Oregon. Actually near Beaverton, outside of Portland. This is the Portland before the weirdos destroyed the downtown. Great city, lots of green everywhere. Very different than AZ. Founded our own consulting business and did some great work, but it was not to last. While visiting Mom in SoCal, decided we should be closer to her.

Southern California. Closer to Mom means living with her. Not the original plan, but what are plans if you do not change them later on. Working for a wonderful company with great people. Was traveling a lot at first, but not so much now. Need to stick closer to home because of the dogs and care that Mom needs. Lisa has worked at many different jobs. The agency has been very good for her. Been here longer than planned, but it is all good. Next stop is planned to be Colorado.

We made it to Colorado in 2024. Lisa and I planned to build on a lot south of Pueblo. My hip/thigh is not getting better, so building is out of question. We bought a house on two acres in Pueblo West. Not ideal, but a roof over our heads. The bones of the house are good and we can customize it to meet our needs going forward.
